Our 12 year old pup had a dental cleaning, extraction and multiple skin tag removal. I was hesitant because our pup is also diabetic. Dr Lee was quite confident in treating her and gave us a reasonable estimate. Her confident, no nonsense approach gave me exactly what I needed to have the procedures done. Our pup came through with a secondary problem unexpectedly improving after the antibiotic treatment following the extraction. We are so pleased and grateful to have had Dr.Lee care for our pup. Thanks to the entire staff!
While vacationing in the Parry Sound area, our German shepherd dog had a one-sided chat with a porcupine. Thankfully a family member was there to assist in removing all but two of the quills from my dogs muzzle and mouth. I was concerned about the two quills that we were unable to fully remove in the roof of his mouth, so early the next morning I drove my dog to the Parry Sound Animal Hospital and the kindly vet staff took a peak and offered to have a vet take a look. At that time she also reassured me that because this is something that the hospital sees quite often and because my dog was eating, drinking and playing, that I could wait it out and see if they become a problem. I opted on waiting-and-see, as the cost just to sedate him was in the $400 range and we were going to be in the area for another week and a half. She warned me that they could become infected and if I had ANY concerns or worries to bring him back in. I was surprised and impressed at the front desk staff taking the time to get all the details and dealing with my concerns. They alleviated my concerns and allowed the vet to deal with their more urgent cases. A smart way to run a business and I was impressed. My dog never did have a problem with the two remaining quills that we were able to remove all but the ends in the roof of his mouth. I'm not sure how we lucked out, but we did. So, her advice was sound.
Always great. Dr Jones and the girls that work there are by far the best!!!! Mom and pups are doing great. Thank you
I came in with my shepherd after he had gotten into some trouble with a porcupine. We had pulled the visible quills out but the area began swelling and pushing over the next few days, and it appeared there was a few small ones we had missed. I brought him in to Parry Sound Animals Hospital and they advised me that the infection should resolve itself without antibiotics or any invasive procedures. Sure enough a few days later it did. Its always nice when a vet is brief, and honest with the animal and owners best interest in mind.
I would recommend this vet clinic to anyone. We were up at the cottage and had a pressing issue with one of our pups. The staff were so helpful and got us in to see a vet within a couple of hours. The vet was gentle and patient, our pup is a bit anxious and he made the experience very pleasant. If I could give them more stars I would :)Thank you so much Parry Sound Vet Hospital!
