Good service, terrible food, and overpriced. Avoid.
We were hoping for so much more. :(We had the pleasure of being served by a friendly and helpful woman, who anyone could tell wanted to make sure we were taken care of. So, the service was very good. However...... because it was Thanksgiving weekend, there were no staff available when we came back to our room late in the evening. Notwithstanding the fact that our phone didn't work, there was no one to call with the problems we had anyway, as they were off. Here were the issues:1. The floor needed a vacuuming, as there was a lot of grit and small pebbles on the floor from the previous guests.2. As mentioned above, the phone didn't work.3. No hot water. No seriously, NO HOT WATER! After speaking to another guest, I found out that none of the units had hot water. It was by luck we had a kettle.4. Apparently they had free WiFi. But, no where in the room was the password posted. Thankfully, the same fellow guest who confirmed the hot water issue had the password. The cost was quite good, but given the problems we had, we would have gladly paid a bit more to ensure all went well.Overall, the room was basic, and had the standard stuff needed to put your head down to sleep. The bed was relatively comfy, but nothing spectacular. Other than the unvacuumed floor, everything from the sheets to the towels was clean.Given the friendly demeanour of the lovely woman who helped us (I believe it was the owner), maybe we just were the unlucky ones on an unlucky night during a holiday weekend. I think more options to allow guests to contact staff after hours would have been a good idea though. I am giving this rating a three because of said good service, otherwise, it rates as a two.
This is a sweetheart of a motel. Standard motel set up but only 15 rooms. Pride of ownership really shows. Well tended neat courtyard and flowers. Everything was brand new or polished to look new. Extremely clean. Pretty lamps. Sweet lady hostess on site. Guests were friendly too. Right next to mall. Take a hard right turn after Canadian tire. Great restaurant, right there. TRAPPERS has western cuisine and seems to be a local favorite. Coming from AB first motel I'd recommend.
Myself and my partner have been coming here for 10 years. We love it here. Family owned and ruined. They are amazing people, very hospitable, even the cleaning ladies are friendly. We love them. The beds aren't very comfortable but they are better than a lot of other motels in town.
